The largest Poker room of Europe, King’s Casino, in collaboration with Indian poker site – PokerBaazi, is all set to host The Indian Poker Series (TIPS) in August 2018. The series will continue for 5 days, from August 15th to 19th, 2018 and it will be held at the Kings Casino Rozvadov in the Czech Republic.
The series is essentially the innovation of founders namely Jaydeep Dawer and Manish Goenka. These two persons were struck with an idea to host an Indian series abroad while they were on one of their trips to King’s Casino, during January 2018. When asked regarding this matter, Dawer revealed the fact that minor and medium stakes players within India hardly ever get to experience playing poker games overseas, because of budgetary restraint. With this point in mind, TIPS is intended to take place in a manner that the budget of player would be identical to any tournament series arranged in Goa. Moreover, it would have the buy-in of the whole series not surpassing ₹1 Lakh.
Manish Goenka mentioned that this type of low buy-in tournaments with High-Value Guarantees, taking place under the regulation of an Indian Banner in the European Circuit is actually first of its kind. He further added that the same could have only been doable at King’s Casino. He admired Michal Hanzik, Juan Perez, Leon Tsoukernik, and the King’s Team to offer such a wonderful platform and opportunity to Indian and Asian poker players.
The discussion turned into excitement when he mentioned that many surprises and action would be perceived at TIPS, Rozvadov for everybody. Moreover, the planning for TIPS 2 has begun and its second edition would be comparatively larger than the forthcoming inaugural edition.
The live satellites were operated in Kolkata and Mumbai; and in order to operate online satellites for the series, TIPS collaborated with PokerBaazi, in the capacity of its official online partner. In addition to that, there were a series of cash games based promotions going on MadOverPoker (MOP), with an objective to win seats to TIPS. The Cash promotions, Satellites, and Pan-India publicity were an excellent success because a group of more than 50 Indian players would travel to the Czech Republic on August 14, 2018.
The series is composed of eight total events, with buy-in varying from €35 to €200. It would be presented with a prize pool of approximately €179,000, indicating that TIPS would be a grand success.
In order to make the series more profitable for players, it is understood that TIPS had presented satellite packages of value ₹1.6 Lakhs up for grabs. This will include Air tickets, the arrangement of five-night stay at the King’s Casino Hotel, all meals facilities along with the tickets to the Main Event and High Roller.
A great opportunity for Indian Players to play abroad, indeed!
