PokerRaj – one of the recent online businesses to launch in India – has chosen Bollywood actor Anita Hassanandani as its brand ambassador.
This major declaration came into light on Tuesday and was made public by Raj Kundra – the owner and promoter of Viaan Industries – and his wife, Shilpa Shetty Kundra.
On the appointment of Hassanandani as the brand ambassador of PokerRaj, Mr Kundra acknowledged her as a vibrant person and expressed his confidence that she would bring good luck to the online business as she has always done with the businesses with which she had been associated in the past. Calling her a lucky charm, Mr Kundra happily declared that they now have a queen of poker in Hassanandani.
The latter was not too far behind in feeling ecstatic, though. On a high note, she added that she has always been a lover of the sport and is excited to get the opportunity to work in partnership with PokerRaj.
Poker has been an integral part of Hassanandani’s career
The close links between Bollywood and poker is an open secret. Many leading actors from the industry such as Aamir Khan and Shahid Kapoor have already shown their close association with the game.
Other than the two actors, whose names have been mentioned above, some other Bollywood A-listers such as Arjun Rampal and Minissha Lamba have also had links with the game. In fact, the latter has been a player of the game for more than seven years and has also taken part in poker tournaments. Some of these include Deltin Poker Tournament (DPT) and India Poker Championship (IPC).
Just like Minissha, Arjun Rampal has also endorsed poker by associating himself with some leading names in the sports such as PokerHigh. He worked for the latter as a brand ambassador last year.
Oftentimes, Hassanandani has expressed her love for poker from time to time. She possesses a sound knowledge of the game and has shown the understanding of taking it to the next level from time to time. Many believe this could be one of the primary reasons behind her making it through to the selection despite the applications of the big shots from the film industry.
Confirming this, Kundra informed that her selection for the position is the direct consequence of her deep involvement with the game.
Viaan Industries, the new online poker venture of Mr Kundra, came into existence with the release of MatchIPL. It has been in the headlines due to its growing popularity which is well illustrated by its successful completion of three years and PokerRaj is the continuation of the company to not only cement but also consolidate its position in the poker industry.
Currently, PokerRaj is busy hosting Nation’s Cup qualifiers. Whoever wins this tournament will also get an opportunity to go to Ireland on a trip and also represent the Indian Team at the PFMP Nations Cup in 2019.
Going by the opinion of poker enthusiasts, the move by PokerRaj could be the idea of the company to inject a tinge of glamour to spice up the game.
